SwellPro Privacy Policy

This Policy describes data processing in the SwellPro app and the website's information pages. If other parts of the website use forms, analytics, or cookies beyond what is described here, this Policy must be updated accordingly before publication.

1. Information processed

Account: Sign in with Apple or Google may provide a user identifier, name, and email address where supplied by the user or sign-in provider. Subscription: user identifiers, entitlement status, and transaction details needed to recognize a subscription and provide purchased access are processed. Payment-card details are not entered into the app itself.

App use: choices such as selected beach and activity mode may be stored on the device. AI questions, selected beach, and limited conversation context are sent to the server to answer requests. The server processes a user identifier and daily request counts to enforce usage limits. Technical information such as IP address, device type, request times, and errors may appear in server and security logs.

Location: if permission is granted, the app uses device location to help select a nearby beach. You may decline permission and select a beach manually. Forecast data for a selected beach includes that beach's location, which is not necessarily the user's precise location.

2. Purposes

Information is used to operate accounts, display relevant content and forecasts, answer AI questions, verify subscriptions, enforce usage limits, provide support, maintain security, troubleshoot problems, and meet legal obligations. Do not include unnecessary sensitive personal information in AI questions.

3. External providers

To operate the service, we use external providers that may process information relevant to their roles: Google Firebase for authentication; Apple and Google for sign-in and purchases as applicable; RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management; OpenAI to process AI questions and submitted content; and marine and weather forecast providers including Open-Meteo. The app may also display third-party content or links, such as video and cameras. Their services are subject to their own policies. This list does not mean that every provider receives every category of information.

4. Retention, deletion, and rights

Information is retained as needed to provide and secure the service, handle inquiries, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods may differ for accounts, server logs, usage data, and information held by external providers. You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion, subject to applicable law and appropriate identity verification. Information that must be retained by law may remain after account deletion. Account deletion does not cancel a store subscription; cancel it separately through your store account.

5. Security and international processing

We use reasonable security measures appropriate to the service, but no system is completely secure. External providers may process information outside the user's country, subject to applicable law and arrangements.

6. Children and policy changes

The app is not intended for children to submit personal information without the involvement of a responsible adult. Contact us if you believe such information was provided unlawfully. If this Policy changes materially, we will publish an updated version and change the date above.
